  Thunderbirds are go

  i went to see thunderbirds last night - i used to love thunderbirds when i was a kid and when i was an adult.

  this film however left me a little dissappointed.

  Do JWs Marry At Too Young of an Age???

  most of the witnesses that marry are in their early 20's that i know of.

  they have zippo experience in anything except how to hide pimples.

  from what you have seen, are most witnesses encouraged to get married---just so that they don't sin?

  I am 47 yo was a jdub since 1957.

  It plays like this,,,,,,sisters married at age 16 and,boys at 18 //// The18 y.o. boys get married to the 16 y.o. girls.

  OR,they leave the 'troof' at age 19.

  Exceptions,are elders enjoy the perk of robbing the cradle.

  The last time we had this topic I received a cascade of rebuts that i don't know what i'm talking about..

  Is it the preaching, that makes JW's believe they have the truth?

  do you think it is the fact that jehovahs witness do a very obivious preaching campian, that convinces them that it is the true religion.when all the doubts you can think off have been raised they seem to just say "well we are the only ones that do the preaching work".

  without the preaching work would it be harder for people to cling on to the religion, what else could they fall back on to convince themselves,it would be very difficult.

  Read his story in the Maine Times [text version] Question : Maine Times: I don't know much about Jehovah's Witnesses. They come to my door once in a while and talk with me about my religious beliefs.

  Ans: Danny Haszard: Let me guess. You know they don't give blood and they don't celebrate Christmas and that's about it, right? Which is the great paradox, because they claim that they are the evangelists of the world, but for all the preaching and teaching they do, practically nobody knows anything about their teachings.

  Think about it,this is so true.Moreover,they know mostly other negatives,i.e. Jdubs sez;only 144,000 go to Heaven (and only JW elite at that and nobody else)

  The Watchtower's defense is that JW's are a most poorly understood minority religion.(Special Pleading Gambler's Fallacy)

  Timely topic Sleepy.In a moment of clarity, I peeked out of the WT$ cult cocoon and come to my senses.

  The end of the world has been postponed so that doesn't mean it's not coming! Rather it,means we have to go out door to door all the more now. It's called: cognitive dissonance : When Prophecies Fail A Sociological Perspective on Failed Expectation in the Watchtower Society by Randall Watters:

  DANNY CALLS THIS CULT PHENOMENON (cognitive dissonance); "JUSTIFICATION OF SOUR GRAPES". e.g.The car of my dreams was sold to another party just as i got there,ahhh,it was probably a lemon anyway...or,Armageddon didn't come in 1975,just think,"now apostates will have time to make it back". Oh and by the way,what is the "message" of Jehovah's Witnesses?

  By the own admission the central CORE doctrine of the Watchtower is that Christ Jesus returned to power( had his 2nd coming ) in the year 1914.
